1.- Txapela

Txapela is the Basque beret. In fact, it is one of the most representative garments of the Basque Country. If you like it, you are lucky because you will find it practically in each establishment. Where to buy it? For example in the shop Alboka (Plaza de la Constitución nº8), an establishment opened since 1939 and specialized in traditional Basque clothing and handcraft products.

2.- Pegatinas de Ardilatxa

Sheep latxa has become one of the most popular souvenirs not only in San Sebastian, but on the whole Basque territory. It is possible to find this sweet animal in any version (mugs, t-shirts, key chains, etc.). Ardilatxa stickers are, without a doubt, the most sought after, especially those that are colored with the shades of ikurriña. They can be purchased at any souvenir establishment.

3. Kukuxumusu

The firm was born in 1989 in Pamplona and since then is causing real furore in both Navarre and the Basque Country. Although its influence has extended to the entire peninsula, it is a souvenir that is very typical in Donostia. On Calle Mayor nº15 you can find the official store that Kukuxumusu has in San Sebastián.

4. Láminas de Donostia

If you like art objects, you’ll love discovering this new perspective that the Koloreka store offers. In this establishment you can buy pictures of landscapes of Donostia from a relaxed point of view. It is a modern and innovative proposal ideal as a souvenir. The store is located on Calle San Jerónimo nº19.

5. Txacoli and Idiazabal cheese

Txacolí is the most famous white wine of the Basque Country. It is dry, light and very easy to drink. It can be found in taverns and is the best companion possible for the pintxos. On the other hand, if there is a cheese emblem of the Basque Country, that is Idiazábal, which, by the way, originally comes from Guipúzcoa. The province is so proud of this denomination of origin that it won’t be difficult for you to find it in any fair or market.
