5 ideas to spend the night in Donosti

 In Plans

San Sebastian is a city to be visited during the day, to be amazed of when the sun goes down and to be experienced at night. During your stay at our hotel in San Sebastián, you will get the chance to enjoy the last hours of the day, the Donostian way. Nightclubs, bars or casinos are part of the wide range of leisure you can experience at night in Donosti.

The traditional pintxos will be your best partners to enjoy the Donostian nightlife. Do not forget to eat, because as you already know, we always know when we leave, but never know when we will come back. Take some notes about these suggestions to enjoy the night in this beautiful Basque city.

– The old town pleases everyone. During the day, the old town is the area where all the tourists go to in order to discover the History of Donosti and its so typical Txikiteros (wine bars). Nevertheless, at night, the place offers another range of activities, displaying a lively and fun atmosphere, with bars that will please everyone. Do not miss legendary Donostian bars such as: la Colchoneria, Eiger or Be Bop.

– El barrio de Gros, to chill out. On the other side of the river Urumea, you will find the Barrio de Gros, the best area for those who want to go for a drink and enjoy a cozy atmosphere without loud music. Nevertheless, the area of Sagües, right next to the Playa de Zurriola, is an option to consider for those agreeing that at night everyone can make the most of his youth again.
Indeed, this place is also the meeting point of all the surfers. In the middle of the Paseo de Zurricola stands the nightclub People, one of the most popular clubs in town.

Calle Reyes Católicos, a chic atmosphere. The Calle Reyes Catolicos is hidden behind the Cathedral del Buen Pastor, most probably the fanciest area for going out in Donostia. When the weather is clear and enjoyable, the streets transform into terraces offering a lively and cheerful atmosphere. These bars and pubs are mostly frequented by people between 25 and 35 years old. We recommend you to go to places such as the bar Warhol, decorated with pictures of the famous artist, or Uda Berri, displaying a big terrace in summer time.

– Dancing until dawn in the Donostian nightclubs. Most of the bars located in the areas listed above usually close around 3:00a.m. Do not worry about it; there are plenty of alternatives to keep discovering this place while staying in Donostia! We suggest you the nightclubs (besides People, already mentioned) Bataplán and La Rotonda, both located Paseo de la Concha.

– Casino, an alternative to spend the night. Of course, there is also another option for those who want to avoid bars and stay away from the hubbub; for those who want to try something different. The Casino Kursaal, really close to the City hall and the harbor, is open to anyone who wants to experience the feeling of gambling, and, in fact, bets are available from the derisory amount of 1 cent of euro. Therefore, the most important is to be entertained in a different way. Moreover, who knows, perhaps you will go back to the hotel with a small fortune in your bag.
